For Agents

An open API and MCP server for every story's analysis: the GRIN/CLAIMS/NOVEL decomposition, plumb score, and extraction graph.

Read-only. No key. No signup.

BedrockNews is a structured, opinionated analysis layer over the news, built to be consumed by software as well as read by people. Every story ships as machine-readable JSON. Pull it over REST, or add the MCP server and let your agent call it as a tool.

Quickstart

The five newest generative stories, analysis only:

curl "https://api.bedrocknews.com/api/articles?verdict=generative&fields=grin&limit=5"

Or give Claude Code the whole surface as tools:

claude mcp add --transport http bedrocknews https://api.bedrocknews.com/api/mcp

REST API

Base URL https://api.bedrocknews.com. Every response is { schemaVersion, data, ... }. Minor schema versions are additive; a breaking change ships under a new /schema/{major}/ path.

GET /api/articles
List and filter stories. Newest first, cursor-paginated (limit max 50).
GET /api/article/{id}
One story with its full analysis.
GET /api/extraction-graph/{id}
The story's extraction map as nodes + edges, ready to re-render.
GET /api/articles/related?id={id}
Related stories for a given article.
GET /api/categories
The category taxonomy.

Full machine-readable reference: OpenAPI spec (OpenAPI 3.1).

Filters on /api/articles

category
Category slug (e.g. politics, ai). Omit or “all” for everything.
since / before
ISO 8601 bounds on publish date.
search
Substring match on titles.
verdict
extractive | mixed | generative — the GRIN verdict.
editorialMode
grin | culture | research | ledger.
plumbMin / plumbMax
Inclusive bounds on the 0–100 plumb (analytical clarity) score.
fields
fields=grin returns the analysis only, no body text.
limit / cursor
Pagination. Pass back the returned nextCursor.

Key analysis fields under data.transformed: transformedTitle, excerpt, body, plumb, grinScores, gpiDiagnosis, extractionGraph, keyStats, claimsScores, novelScores. See the JSON Schema for the full shape.

MCP server

A remote Model Context Protocol server over streamable HTTP at https://api.bedrocknews.com/api/mcp. Read-only, no auth.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http bedrocknews https://api.bedrocknews.com/api/mcp

claude.ai

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → https://api.bedrocknews.com/api/mcp

Any other MCP client

Point it at https://api.bedrocknews.com/api/mcp with the streamable-http transport. The manifest is at /.well-known/mcp.json.

Terms & attribution

Surface the original sourceUrl. GRIN, CLAIMS and NOVEL are a disclosed editorial lens: scores and verdicts are BedrockNews analysis, not neutral fact. If you republish a verdict, attribute it to BedrockNews and link the canonical article at bedrocknews.com/article/{id}. The API is open; cache what you can and don't hammer it. Full terms are in agents.txt and on the Terms page.
